Hello Jello Creme Brulee
August 3rd
2007

I wanted something sweet tonight.
I needed something sweet tonight.
But what was I to do with a box of instant Jello pudding (Cheesecake flavor; it was bought by accident years ago) and a blow torch?
Kickstand creme brulee!
I made the Jello and allowed it to set. I found a lonely packet of Sugar In The Raw and sprinkled the tiny brown crystal shards over the quivering surface.
One packet wasn’t enough, so I added some plain white sugar and SCORCH!
This was surprisingly delicious. Serve it at the next cocktail party in the trailer park.

are you going to put something on the site where we can email links to recipes to others? i need to send this one to mom. she wants a blow torch so bad!

Posted by Blake on August 3rd, 2007 at 4:38 pmDarren says this is actually more like a combination of panna cotta, which is made with gelatin, and creme brulee, which is torched on top.
Of course, it sounds shamefully delicious and fun no matter what you call it.

Panna cotta. Hummm…I think he’s right. It was delicious, and, again, I call it kick-stand creme brulee.
