Happy Valentine’s Day, Bridget!
February 14th
2008
This is a very public display of my love and affection for Bridget (my Beez). I whispered my sentiments in her ear this morning when we woke up, but I’m happy to share with all of you that this is our 10th V-Day together.
That’s right, we’ve been together for a decade, and we’re only 26. Bridget is my love and my life. She’s my salvation. I am the person I am today because of her.
My mind is a whirlwind of creativity and chaos, but Bridget always calms me and tells me everything is going to be all right.
It is going to be all right. In fact, it’s going to be better than that. It’s been heaven. It’s been bliss.
To my Beez: The last ten years have been spectacular. Here’s to another 80 or so! (We’re going to Cochon for dinner)
I love sending Bridget flowers, but the flower shop never gets it right. So, for the last few years I’ve been making her flowers myself. I’m not sure why more people don’t do it themselves. Go to Whole Foods, trim the stems, and put them in a vase. Easy! Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

Awe…very pretty! You’re a good husband. And I can attest that Whole Foods does in fact have a cascade of roses available as I was just there picking up items for my Valentine’s dinner — which for once I wont have to cook.

Posted by Nikki on February 14th, 2008 at 10:43 pmI’ve been lurking for a while, and just wanted to say hi and “how sweet”.
How was Cochon?
Posted by Geggie on February 15th, 2008 at 11:15 amValentine’s was a success. She loved the flowers (of course, right?) and dinner was fantastic.
Cochon was so good that we’re going back Saturday night. I started with spicy pork ribs with watermelon pickle, and Beez had the pork cheek. Both excellent.
For Mains, I had brisket with horseradish potato salad, and she had Louisiana Cochon with turnips. Again, excellent.
Beez got red velvet cake for dessy, and I got the chocolate and honey ice cream AND buttermilk pie. Bridget thinks it’s cute that I order 2 desserts.
We also had an ok bottle of Pinot. We drank the whole thing and giggled all the way home.
I’m going to order all the other food I wanted tomorrow night. I’ll let you know how that turns out.
Posted by Blake on February 15th, 2008 at 2:29 pmOooh, sounds great. My brother called last night and he was driving to NO for the weekend for the All Star game and asked for recs. I made him reservations for dinner at 8 tonight. You’ll be there at the same time. Crazy, small world, huh?
